Popham 400 Events - Castlebay

Friday, August 24, 1:00 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The band's web site is http://www.castlebay.net/.

From it:

"Castlebay has been musically weaving together the timeless traditions of Maine's nautical legacy and it's British Isles heritage since 1987. Fine, expressive vocals are supported by Julia Lane on Celtic harp, and Fred Gosbee on 12-guitar, fiddle, flute, and whistles. In their concerts and recordings they also perform evocative instrumental selections, treating the audience to a musical journey through time and across the Atlantic.

Julia Lane and Fred Gosbee have loved and researched traditional music for most of their lives and blend history, legend and experience into their personable performance style."

I bought a CD of a live performance, knowing nothing about this duo, and have thoroughly enjoyed their style and quality of performance. They have a great mix of storytelling songs and songs of bygone eras (some not too bygone), most of which have a nautical theme and which will fit beautifully into our celebration of trans-atlantic adventurers.

This show is being directly sponsored by a full service stock brokerage firm with offices in Bath, Maine and throughout the State.

We thank them for their support in providing us with entertainment during our celebration!
